tim kelly, lCSW
licensed clinical social worker, nature lover & poet
Welcome Weary Traveler.
I’m Tim, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, nature-loving poetic, and a rooted dreamer.
I help fed up, exhausted, and resentful people pleasers with their crisis skills using whole person programing.
I also enjoy making Tik-Tok references frequently, am a nature loving-poet, and curse when I get really passionate about a conversation.
and i believe there is a way out of these dark fucking woods
Oh weary traveler, you need to get lost on my couch
Your story is different than mine
I can’t say that I’ve been exactly where you are. You are unique and irreplaceable. I have been curiously lost before. I caught myself in the trap of doing what “made sense”, forced myself into a job that was a logical choice, and watched myself struggle with the Sunday Scarries every day.
but you are lost and aren't sure where to go
I did end up leaving that job to start the practice you now find yourself contemplating joining. I’m not saying you should quit your job, but there’s something to say about following your hopes and dreams about adulthood. To search for growth, happiness, and awareness.
Looking for a way to curiosity and thriving in life again
The way out was finally acknowledging that I had lost who I was as a therapist, and as a person. It was a cumulation of ideologies and past events that shaped who I was then. I had to track where I got lost and join the search party to find myself again. I finally got myself on track and dove head first into being the me I was destined to be. You can read more about the fancy certifications and where I’m licensed farther down.
you are curiously lost and need a path forward
Not that you wanted to be here. I’ve worked with many who remarkably share your qualities of a messy mind and a Do-It-Yourself fix-it job for their mental health. You wear this half-glass-full confidence as a masquerade that traps you in this self-imposed cycle. You deserve better than this story of shallow direction and dreams drowning in deadlines and budget reports.
I’m here to guide you to the path you’ve been looking for all along. Whoever implied you were broken or lost and can’t be found can respectfully fuck off. (Fuck Jeff, or whoever it was).
We work to understand what (or oftentimes who) got you here in the first place and work to let those burdens go. We take the time to learn the skills for healing and get to know the inner workings of who you are.
I know you’re tempted to minimize your problems and just DIY was the solution. There is only so much that your time with friends, creative journaling, and good ol’ time in the outdoors can do.
you need to start therapy with me, and you know it
Sign up for a consultation with me so I can finally meet you. I’ve been waiting for a while, so I hope you schedule ASAP. It’s time you let yourself get lost in your mind and where you are, so you can finally find where you want to go.
Professional Credentials
Licenses & Certifications
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Colorado: CSW.09927244
New Jersey: 44SC05955700
Two states? Yup. I have trouble letting go of the past sometimes too. Keeping my licenses in NJ does allow me to continue to serve my clients if I happen to return to Taylor Ham country for a brief visit, so there are some benefits to it.
Board Certified Telemental Health Provider BC-TMH 3402
National Registry Emergency Medical Technician: E3607583
Wilderness EMT: NOLS
Certified Forest Therapy Guide: Association of Nature and Forest Therapy
The first is a certification by the Center for Credentialing & Education that I have the knowledge to provide services via telehealth the online platform I use with my clients. You are probably thinking though. Why does he have an EMT certification? Well, there’s a good reason for that. That’s so I can continue to be a Certified Forest Therapy Guide. You don’t need your EMT to do it, the minimum requirement is to have a wilderness first aid certification. But remember that part of I have trouble letting go?
education background
- bachelors in social work. misericordia University, Class of 2017.
- Masters in social work, advanced standing student, rutgers university class of 2018.
Yeah, I was one of those smart people that completed their masters in 1 year. though it did take the appropriate grades, I got there mostly through anxious planning with the societal pressure of starting my career as early as possible. anxiety was my best friends and created a schedule so packed that any deviations made me crumble.
I only had 3 total mental breakdowns, so i guess i made it out alright. sound familiar?
Professional Experience
- Intensive In-Community Counseling: 2018-2021
- Mental Health and Substance use intensive outpatients: 2018-2021
- Emergency Room Crisis Assessments: 2020-Present
- Individual Outpatient Counseling: 2020-Present
I opened the virtual doors to my practice in late 2021, but i bring with me an abundant and broad range of experience in the mental health field. I have a ton of medical experience as well, but that’s not quite relevant to the work we are going to be doing together.
